Tocketts Mill Country Park

Discover. Explore.

Wether you're planning a mini break, family holiday or want to use the park as a base to explore, you’ll find we’re surrounded by beautiful countryside and very close to the must-see sights of several stunning seaside towns.

Days out:

Tocketts Mill Country Park serves as an excellent base from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and Jurassic Coastline.  With an abundance of seaside days out including the ever spectacular Whitby, Redcar with its dramatic breach, Saltburn by the Sea boasting Victorian Waterlift and Pier, Picturesque Robin Hoods Bay and more, there’s a great choice of places to visit. You can also take in the sights of Goathland, setting for TV’s Heartbeat and visit the famous North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway. If you want to venture a little further, you can reach York and Harrogate to the South, or Durham and Newcastle to the North - all within an hour’s drive.

1. Guisborough Forest Walkway - The Forest and Walkway provide a picturesque gateway to the North York Moors National Park. Complete with visitor centre, cafe, shop and children’s area.

2. Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Saltburn Pier - Saltburn Pier is the last pleasure pier on the north-east coast. The town has plenty of Victorian buildings, a thriving local theatre and a range of public houses, Saltburn-by-the-Sea also contains The Italian Gardens, leading to the Saltburn Miniature Railway.

3. Beamish Living Museum - Beamish is an unforgettable experience for the entire family, an open air museum preserving the industrial heritage of 19th century north-east England.

4. Whitby - The birthplace of Dracula, Whitby’s famous 199 steps lead to the parish of St. Mary where Bram Stoker gained inspiration for the 1897 novel.

5. The North York Moors - Tocketts Mill Country Park borders the North Yorkshire Moors, and is only a 5 minute drive away from the National Park.

Natural beauty:

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle and leave the world behind, there’s plenty of outstanding natural beauty to take in on the doorstep of Tocketts Mill Country Park.  Beyond the incredible park and its surrounding woodland, we are just a stone’s throw from the North Yorkshire Moors where there are acres and acres of heather-covered beauty; an ideal setting for walks and exploration. Of course, the park also boasts excellent proximity to the North’s idyllic coastline, where you’ll find some of the country’s most coveted seascapes.
